Neighbors

We have been so blessed with our new neighbors. We live on a quiet street with about 6 homes and it has been so amazing to me the welcome and kindness shown to our family. It reminded me of the "good ole days" when people really knew each other and would sit out on their porches visiting one another. We really haven't had a place for our kids to play with neighbors before and they are loving it. Our neighbors are grandparents with to two grandaughters (yes Jordan is still outnumbered in the girl vs. boy area but thank goodness he is still at the age that girls can be friends:). They are each the same age as Jordan (actually they are even in the same class at school) and Haley. They live down the road but come to grandma's often and my kids benefit from their friendship. The grandparents are so kind and accepting. The grandpa (age 72) told Dave once "yeah...when I heard there were 4 kids coming I thought..oh man. But you guys are alright" :) Over the past few weeks I have often thought, " we could not have gotten any luckier with the amazing neighbors we have". This may look like work but it actually was so fun to help them load their wood. It was great watching the kids work together to balance the wheel barrow and get it done.
The grandma set up a ramp for them to ride their bikes. The grandpa gets nervous the kids will get hurt so he just says "I just can't watch" and looks away:) Such a sweet man.
Megan has definitely benefited as well. The girls mother over her as you can see. They give her toys to play with and pull her around in this wagon. They push her in the swing and follow her around giving her whatever she wants...spoiled rotten.
Cracking walnuts open
And getting a free ride!!
