So on a whim we decided to stop in New York on our way home. This was not part of the original plan and although none of us are wanting to go back, (my kids are so funny--they all talk about how noisy NY was:) and Dave didn't like the rude drivers--it was somewhat amazing to see) we're all glad we stopped and got to see what we did.
Breakfast on the go as we tried to catch the subway. McDonalds in New York--$27.21 (ouch)

It started raining and we couldn't go up since the earliest ticket for that was the end of Sept. and we were being spontaneous but the kids really enjoyed walking around and then picking out something in the souvenir shop.
They even had a cool little activity for the kids to make an imprint of the Statue with copper foil.
